2018 Illustration alumni Alice Bloomfield interviewed by The Love Magazine:

Trino Verkade: How would you personally describe your artwork?

Alice Bloomfield: I once had my work described as, “Both seductive and sort of startling” which I agree with. Although my work is sexualised and often depicts lavish scenes there is a darker side to it. I’m fascinated with the contrast between wealth and darkness, for example a drug lord living a life of luxury while victims of his business suffer or a rich girl who seems perfect on the surface but is unhappy and fighting inner turmoil. There is something sickly fascinating about this to me as everyone hopes to be filthy rich one day when in reality wealth is not a cure for anything and would most likely not make them happy at all.
